Temporary Christmas Crew Help Cheese Store
Burnett Dairy Cooperative is looking for temporary employees to help with shipping holiday orders for our cheese store. This position includes processing credit/check payments, weighing and pricing cheese, packaging orders to be shipped, assembling gift boxes, and stocking shelves. This job requires pro-longed standing and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds. The shift is Sunday-Thursday from 2:30 pm-10:30 pm starting November 7th until December 20th.
Sales Agronomist and Service Specialist
Burnett Dairy Cooperative is seeking a Sales Agronomist to increase sales, maintain appropriate margins, and provide excellent customer service. The Sales Agronomist sells seed, plant food and crop protection products. Will use soil testing and knowledge of products to make appropriate recommendations to patron farmers. Seasonally may assist with delivery and application of agronomic products.
Responsiblites Promotes and coordinates the sales of crop nutrients, crop protection products, seed, precision technology and all related services within the company credit and pricing policies. Interprets soil sample results and makes appropriate fertilizer application recommendations. Scouts fields and develops methods for control of noxious weeds, crop diseases, and insect pests. Keep current on agronomic products, trends, problems, services, and resources to see agronomy products in an ethical manor. Examines results of crop production studies to discover and enhance characteristics such as yield, quality, adaptation to specific soils or climates, and resistance to diseases and pests. Studies crop production to discover best methods of planting, cultivation, harvesting, and effects of various climatic conditions on crops.
Education/Experience Bachelors or Associates Degree in a related field (Agronomy, Agriculture, Business Management) and 2 years of experience, or 5 years of directly related experience. Candidates should have or be willing to obtain and maintain a CCA certificate as well as any other appropriate certifications including valid driver’s license and insurability at all times.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Strong customer-service focus with the ability to develop long term relationships with growers based on technical knowledge and trust. Strong communication and listening skills.Ability to influence decision-making.Excellent interpersonal skills. To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of spreadsheet, word processing, accounting, and precision agriculture software.
Makeroom Operator - FT
Burnett Dairy Cooperative is currently accepting applications for the position of Makeroom Operator. This is a full-time position that works 12 hour shifts 6:00-6:00. AM and PM shifts are both available. To be successful as a Makeroom Operator a person must have excellent communication skills, a keen eye for detail, and a drive to learn the cheese making industry. Job duties include monitoring machines throughout the cheese making process including the flow of cheese from belt to cooker, the temperatures of the cooker, PH and acid of cheese, and lining cheese in the Brine room. Some cleaning of forms, general housekeeping and miscellaneous job duties throughout the cheese plant are also required.
Burnett Dairy Cooperative is currently accepting applications for the position of Intake Operator. This is a full time position that works 12 hour shifts. We have AM AND PM positions open. This position oversees the prerequisite program – “Beta Lactam testing”. Must understand the importance of this testing and have the ability to notify Supervisors of all positive test results. Performs analytical testing of milk and whey to determine quality communicates issues and problems with incoming and outgoing raw materials follows all GMP’s, SSOP’s, SOP’s involved in the process. General sanitation and all other duties as appropriate for this position. Must maintain valid Wisconsin Bulk Weigher/Samplers License and Must maintain valid Wisconsin Food and Water Analyst Certificate.
